Thanks to constant investment and improvement of the quality of its offer and service, the rating of the Kovačine Camp on the island of Cres has been increased by the decision of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

To obtain an additional star, the camp had to go through a very strict and demanding procedure. The conditions for obtaining the four-star category are set out in an ordinance of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and very clearly and strictly prescribe the necessary quantitative and qualitative criteria required to enter a higher category, with the standards being very similar to those in Europe. This has once again placed the Kovačine Camp at the forefront of the camping industry, which is good news for all guests.

This achievement is the result of long-term investments in improving the quality of service and amenities of the camp, which have resulted in meeting all the criteria for increasing the category.

We are extremely proud of the fact that the Kovačine Camp joined other 4-star camps, which is a guarantee of its top quality and a confirmation that all our previous investments have fulfilled its goals.

The most significant investments included the replacement of some of the dilapidated mobile homes with new, more spacious models, the installation of new mobile homes, horticultural design and a new sports zone with a multifunctional sports field, including basketball and futsal.

The offer of the camp has been completed with premium and superior pitches, as well as various amenities and new entertainment programmes. Three recycling points have been set up at the camp, where you can take what you need and dispose of what you no longer have a use for. Guests can bring their mugs, books, games, dishes and other things they no longer need and are still in good condition, and take any item from the table that they find useful – all with the aim of reducing waste and promoting sustainability. Entertainment programmes have been enriched with new events, especially the Local Experience Day, where guests can learn about the customs and traditions of the island of Cres through the presentation of its products and the songs of traditional vocal ensembles.

A digital map is also available to our guests, making it easier for them to find pitches when checking in, while its navigation option facilitates moving around the camp.

The Kovačine Camp is situated in an attractive location next to the beach and offers accommodation for 4,500 guests in 269 mobile homes and 1,500 pitches.

The largest number of guests come from Germany, Slovenia, Austria, Italy and the Netherlands, and these countries also awarded the camp the “ADAC Superplatz*****” and “ANWB Erkend” awards for 2024, as well as the “Najkamp Adria” award.
